borrowed finery improvisation

church door, white album paint cracked
deadbolt and key-lock caging stories outside
we tell ourselves we live outside, we tell ourselves
we'll die outside, everything
we need is outside, outside sense-self-logic,
princess existence of no value, no world,
candy-white church door like a haze
between here and there, exist and unexist,
caged world quilted in warm
down feathers until we tell ourselves
it's time to lay down outside, the prophet
leads us through the deadbolt door, we
tell ourselves we'll die outside, and
in order to live we'll happen in
the sea, drown uncaged beneath ripples,
exist and unexist, no value in
cage, no value in sea, whether
it is exist or unexist, the stories lie
outside the door, in the world. We
break the deadbolt, tell stories in
order to live, tell stories in order
to die, pied piper seasalt drowning,
exist and unexist.

(Note: First draft of another W303 improvisation.)
